How legal education is sourced, updated and corrected

Trust is earned by saying who produced a page, how it was produced and what has—and has not—been reviewed.

Source hierarchy

We prefer the current Judicial Council form page and instructions, California Legislative Information, California Courts self-help material, official federal law and published opinions. Secondary commentary can identify an issue but is not used as the sole authority for a legal proposition.

Automation disclosure

Software assistance is used to organize content, generate consistent metadata, test links and markup, and flag contradictions. Publication is not described as legal review. A page will name an attorney reviewer only after that person reviews the exact published substance.

Dates and corrections

Pages show the date of substantive review. Dates are not refreshed merely to appear current. Material changes to a form, statute or product behavior trigger a new review. A verified public corrections channel will be published here before correction intake opens; until then, consult the cited primary source before relying on a disputed statement.
